Anaphylaxis Awareness for Schools is a practical, engaging one-hour training session designed to help school staff feel confident in recognising and responding to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. Designed for whole-school teams, the session combines essential allergy awareness with emergency response and hands-on practice using adrenaline auto-injector training devices, while also exploring Allergy Action Plans, reducing allergen exposure and the wider responsibilities of staff in creating a safer, allergy-aware school environment.

Who Is It For?

Anaphylaxis Awareness for Schools is designed for whole-school teams, recognising that a pupil experiencing an allergic reaction may be with any member of staff when an emergency occurs.

 

Training is suitable for teachers, teaching assistants, lunchtime supervisors, administrative and support staff, pastoral teams, catering staff, breakfast and after-school club staff, regular volunteers and other staff involved in supporting pupils throughout the school day.

The DfE guidance specifically extends allergy awareness and emergency-response training beyond designated first aiders to a broad range of permanent and temporary school personnel.
